Delight in the simplicity and flavor of Thermomix Plaice Balls, a unique and tasty seafood dish that blends the delicate taste of plaice with the convenience of your Thermomix.
Today’s recipe was given to me by my mom, a simple and tasty idea to enjoy plaice, which is usually presented in a somewhat sad way.
Great to prepare for kids to make them eat fish. 🙂
Plaice Balls are small, round fish cakes made from plaice, a flatfish known for its mild, sweet flavor and fine texture. Combined with a variety of spices and ingredients, these fish balls are a delightful treat usually served as an appetizer or a main course. With the Thermomix, you can prepare them quickly and with ease, maintaining the integrity of the fish’s delicate flavor.
Preparing plaice balls in your Thermomix is not only efficient but also ensures consistency in texture and taste. Here are some tips to make the most out of this dish:
- Choose Quality Fish: Opt for fresh plaice for the best flavor. Freshness in the fish will translate into tastier, more succulent balls.
- Proper Seasoning: Balance the mild flavor of plaice with appropriate herbs and spices. Dill, parsley, or chives work wonderfully.
- Grinding Consistency: Use your Thermomix to grind the plaice to the required consistency. It shouldn’t be overly smooth, as a bit of texture is desirable.
- Cooking Technique: Either pan-fry them lightly for a crispy exterior or bake them in the oven for a healthier option. Both methods produce excellent results when using a Thermomix.
If you’re passionate about seafood, the Thermomix can be your best kitchen companion. Here are some other fish recipes to try:
